We have 3 avocado trees, a Sharwil, an Ota, and a Lamb-Hass.
This is from the Sharwil tree, and is a very good tasting high quality avo, not watery or stringy.
The black bottom on the fruit is due to having fallen from the tree.
This avo weighed about 1-1/2# and bruised itself when hitting the ground.
I figured out the ripening process from it.
No more fell before being picked.
The Ota avos don't get this big, but they're much better tasting, a real treat.
I'm still waiting for the Lamb-Hass to ripen later this spring - summer.
They're all young trees that bore fruit for the first time last year.
