180° panorama view from the back [upper] end of Whittier Glacier overlooking Burns Glacier.
The first time I came up here there were hanging glaciers on the unnamed mountain just to the right of center.
I watched a serac fall from the hanging glacier in the cirque on the mountain to Burns Glacier below it, very impressive.
The hanging glaciers are now gone.
My assumption is that it's due to glacial retreat caused by global warming.
Burns Glacier runs from L to R down to Portage Lake.
The end of Portage Glacier can be seen in the R.H. distance down near the terminus of Burns Glacier.
